Big Sur Day 1

So after we left LA, we spent the next days driving up the coast on highway 1 towards Big Sur. We slept on the side of the road outside of Pismo Beach and then outside of Santa Cruz. The days were spent stopping whenever we wanted, having lunch overlooking the ocean, hiking cliffs, checking out sea creatures washed up on the shore, climbing huge rocks overlooking raging Pacific waters, and much more. This area of the country has to be one of the most beautiful roads to drive. I was wanting some nature so badly after being in southern California and this was just what I needed. The trees, the fog, the huge waves and raging currents, the sea weed and kelp, the sea lions, the supposed large sharks lurking nearby, the cliffs, the small quaint towns, the sunrise and sunsets, the smells and sounds….It is some of the most surreal nature I have ever experienced in this country. Most of the coast line is untouched or untouchable due to the waves and rocks, making the animal life that much more prevalent and real. It is so nice to know that these places exist. I like how nature has kind of said “No” to humans in this area of the world. Here are some pictures of Big Sur…
